I use sub categories in my budget. In the following Expense example the hierarchy is Canine / Vet.
When I create a transaction on the Mac (or iPad) I am presented with 4 budget options as shown in the first image. The first of the options is the default.
I select the third option that includes the complete hierarchy as shown in the second image.
When I synch to the iPad (or Mac) the budget for the synched transaction on the iPad (Mac) is set, incorrectly, to the default option.
If the first option is used then the value of the sub category is not computed when the Budget is clicked to display the amounts spent / remaining / budgeted for each category; when the third option is selected the sub category is correctly valued which is what I need.
The fact that the synch does not correctly set the budget results in discrepancies between the two devices when viewing the current budget status. The only way I could find to bring the two back into agreement is to manually change the entries for each synched transaction. This is a massive PITA

Re: Synched transactions have different budgets Mac to iPad
Thanks for the bug report.
As a workaround you can double click on your budget and drag & drop the subcategory line before the parent category line. This way the subcategory should be the default choice.
