Hello
I've just installed Lion, and entered some transactions in iCompta, but I always get this message:
"The document “Accounts.compta” could not be saved. The file is locked."
The options are 'Save anyway' or 'Cancel'. I've tried both, and neither save the changes.
Clicking 'Save Anyway' results in 'You don’t have permission to save the file “Accounts.compta”.'
I've tried allowing read and write permissions to every user, but that doesn't work either.
I'm sure it's something simple, as iCompta worked fine before the upgrade to Lion, and would be grateful for advice please.
Thanks
I have just run FileBuddy to search for locked files, and it only came up with 3, but none were related to iCompta or its folders.
(iCompta 4.0.11 on Mac OS X Lion)

Re: Mac OS X Lion - Won't allow me to save iCompta
Ok, I saved the account with a different name, and am now using that name as my main account.
However, the original accounts.compta remains inaccessible - even though 'cmd i' shows it as not locked.
A little disappointed with the lack of help available.
And still not sure what happened to cause the original file to lock, how it can be unlocked, and how I can prevent this from occurring again.

This is a Lion bug and the workaround is to save the file with a different name, which is what you did.

I have the same problem with Lion. I have tried save as and am still getting message The document could not be saved. You don’t have permission. I am told to view and change permissions but this has not helped. I rely on this programme for my personal accounts and it is vital that I am albe to update my accounts regularly. thank you for your help.

Re: Mac OS X Lion - Won't allow me to save iCompta
I managed to get mine usable by saving the file, using 'save as', Accounts2.compta on to my desktop. That way I knew I had saved all the current transactions to date.
Then when I opened the Accounts2 file, I was able to carry on as normal, adding transactions, etc, and saving them as Accounts2.
I've been using Accounts2 as my main file ever since, and it seems to be working as it should.
I've never been able to access the original Accounts.compta file since it first locked. But that didn't matter as the file that you see when you open iCompta contains all the items that you have been able to post to date. So when you save that as a different file name, you can carry on working and posting transactions as normal.
Obviously, I just called mine Accounts2 - you should be able to call it whatever you like!
Hope that helps.
At least it was how I managed to find a way to use iCompta again!
Sorry, I realise that wasn't clear - I am sure that I found the Accounts.compta file, and then saved it as Accounts2.compta, then opened it in iCompta. Then used that as my main file. I think.
