Credit card

Post by Beppe »

Hello, I just bought the app! Still a few things I couldn't go through in the demo mode.

If I understood correctly, the best way manage a credit card connected to a checking account is to set up two accounts: one for checking and one for my credit card.

I am having trouble resetting the credit card expenses to zero after they are paid from the checking account.
How can I correctly record these transactions so that my credit card balance resets to zero after the payment is made from my savings account?

From perusing the forum I believe I need to use the "make deferred debit" option, but it is grayed out.

In my credit card account the "Debited account" is set to the "checking account", the owner is the same, the transfer frequency set per 1 month and the "Transaction name" is Transfer. In fact I can see the "Transfer" on both accounts, checking and card.

In the checking account I added a card with the same number is in the credit card account.

Thank you!

One thing I understood is that, since I imported the data from a QIF file, I had to clear every transaction. I am new to all of this, so I was using a sort of spreadsheet approach. Once I cleared the data, it worked as expected.

As for the "make deferred debit" option, it is no longer necessary; it was just my assumption from what I understood reading the forum. However, it is still greyed out.

"Make deferred debit" option is only enabled when you don't set a frequency to the credit card account and iCompta can't compute it for you automatically so you have do it manually.
