You can't split a transaction into several accounts, a transaction belongs to one and only account. You could however make a transfer between accounts. Have you rethought this position? When my wife receives her paycheck with a deduction for her 401K, there is in reality no transfer at all done ...

It seems I'm missing something quite simple, but I just don't see it. Other than the category report -- which shows a summary of each category grouped by month for all of the displayed transactions -- there doesn't seem to be any reporting tools. Where will I find a balance sheet (net worth), income ...

Creating the account in iCompta, exporting each account separately from Quicken, then importing each file into the appropriate account did the trick.

Who knew there were so many personal finance application choices to replace Quicken? I started with thirty, quickly eliminated eight based on information found on MacUpdate.com (how long since updated, screenshots, developer's attention to his own site), and got rid of 11 more after downloading them ...
