how to restore from email.

the app was deleted after i installed iOS 5 and iCloud, ihad send a backup to my mail id from the app, an attachment of
'my iPhone.compta'
is there on ma email. i tried opening the attachment from the phone, it says
'Mail cannot open this Attachment'
please someone help me I had all the transactions saved on it, and now its all blank.
