Easier new transaction entry - a suggestion

If a search criteria has been entered (to find a set of matching transactions), and then New Transaction is selected [either by cmd-N or clicking on the (+) button], the search criteria is erased and the new transaction is deselected. 
Having to reselect the transaction (and having to re-enter the search criteria to see the smaller transaction set you were just working on) is a waste of time. Please consider amending this behaviour. Thank you.
