Balance's

I find this app alittle confusing. I've created my balance inside my account. When I add a new expense as a debit this is what confuses me I have the original balance on right side and the whatever the expense was it creates another number next to my balance but it is being added instead off being subtracted can someone clarify this for me. This is on both Mac book and iPhone thanks for any help

Balance = balance of all transactions
Reconciled balance = balance of transactions with reconciled status only (= balance of your bank report / web site)
