Hi Angeman,
I use to register items bought at various supermarket. I use different categories to log main products I usually buy, such as a particular brand of biscuits or drink or youghurt and so on. For example I've a category for pepsi cola 1,5l bottle or for Franziskraner bier.
Sometimes I'd like to know where I could buy at lower price a particular product but the only way I know is a bit complex. First I must export the whole account in a csv file, then I have to import in excel where I'll be able to analyze categories in order to compare different shops.
Why you don't think to add a report, based on categories, directly in icompta?
Now you can apply a filter but the produced list, display the transaction total amount and not the single category price. So it is complex to compare products.
Another improvement concerns people. It would be very appreciated (for me) if you can assign a people not only at transaction level, but even at category level of a transaction. So you can specify that a category in the transaction is "assigned" to a particular people. Now if you have a transaction with two categories (i.e. a t-shirt and trousers), both bought in the same transaction but t-shirt for Anna and trousers for John how is it possible to specify each category to each people?
Would you be so kind to consider to "fix" the add category button? The solution of scrolling window is very unconfortable if you have a lot of category addede in a transaction. Adding a new category, you have to scroll the window at the top for each new category added..
Finally, is iCompta scriptable (by Applescript/Automator) actions? It would be useful if you can add transactions via batch script to a particular account. For example, if you receive a confirmation mail by Vodafone, after a phone sim charge, you could prepare an action in order to add a trsaction, without having the need to start application and to remember to add the transaction....
I hope to have explained these matters properly. I beg your pardon for my bad english.
Regards.
