I've been using iCompta version 3 for the last several months with no problems. I was using it to tend to three accounts at the same bank. All transactions were entered using the embedded browser and downloading and importing transactions as ofx files. I never had a failure that I can recall. When iCompta version 4 was announced, I checked it out and decided to give it a try. All existing files seems to make the update with no problems.

However, when I attempt to use the embedded browser to download the ofx files, I receive an error in iCompta and nothing is imported. I switched back to version 3, and there are no problems with the import.

My bank gives options in regard to the type of file that can be downloaded. My download options are: Comma Delimited, PDF, Microsoft Money, Tab Delimited, and Plain Text. Additionally, I may select a particular date, a range of dates, or a "since last download" option. Originally, I chose to download in the "Microsoft Money" format because it seemed rather universal. I also choose to download "since last download." Should I attempt to download the transactions in another format? Will this cause problems with existing recorded transactions if I switch? What is the preferred format as far as iCompta is concerned? Is there some preference that needs to be set in version 4 in order to successfully download ofx files?

I have to get this sorted out if I am to continue using iCompta. Surely there are others have similar problems.

Similar problem here. ofx imports used to work fine in iCompta 3, but in iCompta 4 even though it imports the correct number of transactions all values are 0, all transactions are labelled "new transaction".

Today I downloaded and installed iCompta version 4.0.1. Everything was imported from version 3 with no errors (I had switched back to version 3 after the earlier problems with version 4.0). I am happy to report the ofx import on three different accounts was flawless! I had no duplicates, and no errors whatsoever. It seems that the changes to iCompta made in version 4.0.1 have solved my problems.

Now I can evaluate the software properly. Fortunately, the 30 trial period is not hindered by a limit on transactions (as some software developers impose).
