May I suggest a way to facilitate the choice of many categories with one condition, in a way that would not need big changes in the program?
If the condition would allow not only for the operators "is" and "is not" but also "starts with", one could include a prefix in the name of subcategories and then choose the condition: "The category - starts with - prefix". As for programming it could need only to change a SQL Select clause (LIKE 'prefix%').
