How to use "Participants"

Post by masayan24 »

Dear all, I just started using iCompta (well already 1 month).
It's very nice program. I loved it.
However, I don't understand how to use "Participants" for shared transition.
I carefully read the instructions on the User Guide, however the information is not enough for me.

Please explain how to use shared transition.

For example I would like to manage following transitions:

To give a present to a friend with 4 of us.
I paid $100 at this time.
Then next day they payed $25 each.

From now on, I'm guessing how to do:
(I have already 4 people including me on the "People" on the left column)
The day I bought a present...
Add transition on my wallet account with $100.
Add 3 people in the "Participant" with $25 each.
(At this point, I can see the condition that 3 person owe $25 and I'm owed $75 on the "People" region.)
When people payed back the money...
Check the box on the right of each person in the "Participant" region.
Doing the same thing for 3 times.
(At this point, nothing shown on the "People" region.)

However, by checking the boxes, no money of wallet account changes.
So I guess I need to make a transfer $25 between me and others in addition to checking the boxes.

But I think it is something wrong. It's troublesome.
So please tell me how I should do for such transactions.

Sincerely,
masa

I missed finding about the same topic, yesterday.
I found it today, and there is already an answer.

The check box is just logical box that only tells you about owe / be owed condition.
You have to check the box, and at the same time you need to make transaction, separately.

The detailed discussion can be find
