progressive tax brackets rule

Post by SRIC »

any way to create a rule that mirrors progressive tax brackets?
I was thinking about assigning a transaction to one tax or another (e.g. 15% 38% 50% etc) based on the preview value of a category, but this seems impossible
e.g. category "income taxes" , assign tax rate 15% to all transactions that have a preview value <1000 , 38% to all that have preview value > 1000 and < 2000, etc.

Sorry it's not possible as the preview value is not available in the rules engine.

ok thanks for the quick replies!

is it instead possible to set through a rule the tax category instead of passing a fixed number?
say I have tax category "VAT", when I import I'd like to set the transaction tax to VAT and not to a value hardcoded in the rules.

I will probably add that as well in a future release.
