You can't split a transaction into several accounts, a transaction belongs to one and only account. You could however make a transfer between accounts.

1. better links between accounts for transfer transactions, so that when a transfer is created and then amended, it updates both sides of the transaction. Ahhhh I think I have guessed what you want : you would like to group transactions by category in the operations list, right ?
If so, just select "Type" in the sort by popup button at the top of the list.

The single quote ' has to be put twice as it is considered as an escape character so you should try MM/dd''yy (beware : two single quotes ' and not one double quote ").

Forget what I just said, I found a much better way of handling this by adding an "amount sign" import field. This will be available in next release.
