Future of iCompta?

Hi there. It's been a while since v6 came out, more or less 2 years ago. Besides some incremental updates I haven't seen things moving on. There are some good suggestions around this forum, some newer, some much older, that could be implemented. If not you could poll the user base for what they woul...

Re: working very slow (lots of rainbow wheels)

Thanks for your information, that made me discover a way to do it I didn't know existed ! So you can type the following command in the /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app application : defaults write com.lyricapps.iCompta6 AppleLanguages '("en")' Good Lord! I was asking for that years ago!...

Hey Angeman,
do you still plan to develop and support iCompta for the future?

Re: Moving to a new bank

Happily, the copy and paste thing worked for categories and for budgets too.

This is seriously cool and time saving.

Re: Moving to a new bank

No, in fact I don't want to change them, I'd love to keep them. But maybe it wasn't clear that I am going to create a new file too, because the way the new bank export the data it is different from the old, so they don't mix well. Moreover, the "new" account is actually an old one, been used for a w...

Moving to a new bank

Hi there, I'm in the process of moving to a different bank. This will mean I'll have to manually enter and organize all my category tree, something I carefully tailored during the years. Bummer, unless I'm hopefully overlooking something. Wouldn't it be a good idea to be able to have a "global" butt...

Re: 2 suggestions

No fuss! Just remember to create a new config and yeah you've got to fill it from scratch the first time but then I can have a new_site / old_site config. People from my bank seems to love to fiddle with the cdv structure so from time to time it changes the starting line, the column separator and so...

Re: 2 suggestions

Hi, my bank just transitioned to a new layout/system and things are quite shaky at the moment. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't! They still have the old site online just in case. The problem is that the CSV file they export is different between the old and new site and this drives me craz...

Re: Mortgage

Ok but... let's say I payed 1 installment

1) I download the new bank statement
2) I transfer the transaction to the Mortgage account
3) I change the status of the planned transaction for that month to created

Rinse and repeat for every month.

Is that correct?

Mortgage

Hi, lately I've been using iCompta to track my mortgage. I created a new account of the kind lending (it's prestito in italian not sure of the translation). So far so good for the first 2 months. My mortgage is flexible... I can mix periods of a fixed rate with variable rate in 2/5 years periods. Wi...
