Feature request: refund partial transaction

Post by gexcko »

Can you please add the ability to mark a partial transaction as a refund?

In the attached screenshot I need to mark the £9.50 as a refund on an item but leave the -£21.50 as an expense.

Currently without the refund box checked the £9.50 is added to income while the £21.50 is added to expenses. Checking the box will reverse these and subtract the £21.50 from income and subtract the £9.50 from expenses.

What I need is to be able to have the £9.50 subtracted from expenses while leaving the £21.50 as being added to expenses.

This would be a great help.

Speaking of refunds, how do I enter one? The User Guide doesn't cover refunds...

Do I just check the refund box on the original purchase?

Do I create a new transaction (credit) and then check the refund box? If so, which type do I put for the "Kind"? Is it possible to add "Refund" as a "Kind"?

You should put "Cash" or "Card" or maybe something else depending on the way you got the refund.
