Loan payments to show up as expenses

Hi Angeman As I'm analyzing monthly expenses I noticed that the payments I make to Credit Cards or Car Loans are solely transfers. In my reports excluded all transfers by setting "linked account" to "none". But such reports don't take loan payments into consideration. With Credit...

Transactions vs Splits

Hi Angeman

Could you explain what's the difference between transactions and splits?
I'm not sure I get the thinking behind having categories under "splits"
Also in reports you have separate windows for transactions and separate for splits - what is that for?

thanks

Re: automatically make certain transactions into transfers

Oh my god,
How could one possibly known this exists in iCompta!?

Your software is filled with hidden gems, Angeman. But it takes 10 forum messages to get to know such a useful and straightforward function. Why don’t you describe it in help file? There are folks that actually read them ;)

Re: automatically make certain transactions into transfers

yes they are easily identifiable by name - CAPITAL ONE MOBILE PYMT is name on all of them ( you can see this transaction on the screenshot right after the transfer) I tried to match the transactions with a rule like in screenshot, but that doesn't work. I believe this should be pretty common situati...

Re: automatically make certain transactions into transfers

No Angeman Can you see on the second screenshot that there’s a transaction with the same amount right after the transfer ? This is the one that downloads from the bank reflecting the receipt of the payment. How do I make my rules so that in the end I’m only left with one transfer from checking to ca...

Re: automatically make certain transactions into transfers

Ok
Here's an example
I made a rule to create transfer based on account and name
How do I make a rule so that transfer stays, but the incoming "mobile payment" goes away?

I have many credit cards which I pay regularly so such rule will really save me a lot of time

Re: automatically make certain transactions into transfers

Ok could you please explain how to do it? Because I'm new to using rules and this one is a bit complicated to me. Does it have to be compound condition or a number of conditions? I couldn't find the action "Match a transaction" or anything similar For future - is there a guide to using the...

Re: automatically make certain transactions into transfers

Thank you, Angeman, this helps to make my payments to other cards into transfers to those cards. However, now with this rule, when I download the transactions from the accounts to where I've just made the transfer, I have a duplicate transaction, because these statements now reflect receiving the mo...
