Re: Transactions vs Splits

Transactions filter acts on the transaction level so if a transaction doesn't pass the filter its splits are not processed. If you put a condition to exclude a category in the transactions filter for example, all of the splits of the transaction will be excluded from the report whereas only the spli...

Re: exclude a category in report

You need to create a "All of the following is true" condition and put it at the very top. Then add a "The category is not XXX" inside it and finally move your "Any of the following is true" inside it as well.

Re: Loan payments to show up as expenses

If I understand it right your splits filter should be :
- Any of the following is true :
--- The linked account is None
--- The linked account is XXX
--- The linked account is YYY

Where XXX and YYY are the 2 accounts for which you want to see the transfers.

Re: Transactions vs Splits

A split is just a division of a transaction, it's a way to separate a transaction into 2 different categories for example.

Re: Loan payments to show up as expenses

In a comparative report only debits are show by default but you can double click on the report and select "Credits" or "Total" in the "Compare" field to show them.
