Re: Loan payments to show up as expenses

If I understand it right your splits filter should be :
- Any of the following is true :
--- The linked account is None
--- The linked account is XXX
--- The linked account is YYY

Where XXX and YYY are the 2 accounts for which you want to see the transfers.

Re: Transactions vs Splits

A split is just a division of a transaction, it's a way to separate a transaction into 2 different categories for example.

Re: Loan payments to show up as expenses

In a comparative report only debits are show by default but you can double click on the report and select "Credits" or "Total" in the "Compare" field to show them.

Can you show me a screenshot of your System Preferences > Region & language settings so that I can try to reproduce the bug ?

Re: How to alter the date format? (V6)

The date format is the one used by the system. To modify it you need to change the region in System Preferences.

Re: automatically make certain transactions into transfers

You can't do that and if you delete one transaction then the balance of your account will turn wrong. Instead you just have to select the negative and positive transactions and then right click > Convert as transfer…

Re: automatically make certain transactions into transfers

I'm not sure I understood correctly but if there is no way to identify precisely the transactions on which to apply the rules such as a unique name or amount then you can't do it with a rule.

Re: compound condition in rules

Is the amount supposed to be a credit ? If no you should put -77.
